Band Of Friends $1.99 “Band of Friends” is a fast paced 34,000 word young adult fun read that is targeted for the millions of middle level students riding the rollercoaster of thrills and spills of being in the school band. The concept of writing a book and/or series featuring band kids was born when the school librarian and I discovered that there were no available books in this genre to recommend to my students. Band students are typically the most avid readers in the school and we were very surprised that there weren’t any books addressing this genre. With a mix of a marketing ploy and the educator that I am, I intentionally designed this, the first book of the series, to address the younger YA market (length and level) with succeeding books advancing appropriately. Several goals with this series include weaving the main characters’ development through school experiences, music performance experiences, and their individual experiences with athletics and an eclectic mix of family values. Synopsis: Ronnie Simms had to move mid-year to a town that was very different than the place he grew up. Ronnie, a typically insecure middle school trumpet player in a socially backwards town with a great band suddenly finds himself in a much more socially advanced sports driven town with a less developed band program. Socially outcast by most of the new students, he becomes irreversibly linked to three friends in band. The new friends, neighbors and bike riding buddies are Dean, the nerdy clarinet player that lives next door, Butch, the goofy trombone player, and the character that balances the equation, Claire. Claire is a cute, wealthy, athletic, girl in the drum section who cleverly gets the boys out of the trouble they always manage to get into. Ronnie’s reluctant arrival in the new school immediately finds him teased, insecure and lost in his new world. But, he is able to rise to every challenge including being attacked by and decking the school bully during his first detention ever, |

Characters In Disney Package Films (Study Guide) $21.09 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Chapters: Mickey Mouse, Goofy, José Carioca, Jiminy Cricket, Donald Duck, Ichabod Crane, Headless Horseman, Mr. Toad, Panchito Pistoles, Willie the Giant, Aracuan Bird. Excerpt: Duckburg , as seen in the animated series DuckTales . The Duck universe is the fictional world that centers around the stories of Disney characters Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck . It is a subset of the Donald Duck universe. Carl Barks , who created Scrooge McDuck in 1947, wrote and drew numerous stories involving Donald Duck , his nephews and their wealthy Uncle Scrooge. This tradition was continued by various American artists and writers. When the Disney characters gained popularity in Europe, various European countries began to print their own Donald Duck magazines, reprinting American stories as well as producing their own. Thus, numerous European cartoonists contributed their own stories and characters to this fast expanding universe, most notably the Italian creator Romano Scarpa . Many European characters have never been introduced to the United States, although in recent years Disney comics publisher Gemstone improved on this situation. From the 1980s onwards, the American cartoonist Keno Don Rosa gained immense popularity with his Duck stories, building and expanding upon the original stories by Barks, whereas Rosa actually considers Scrooge rather than Donald the most interesting character and pivotal protagonist among the inhabitants of Duckburg. Most of the characters listed below have appeared in the 1980s Disney cartoon series DuckTales . Disney’s Darkwing Duck series is nominally set in the DuckTales universe, in a metropolis called St. Canard, although sharing the denizen Launchpad McQuack , and a few crossover episodes involving Gizmoduck , there is no interaction. Chapters: Goofy, Inspector Clouseau, Leopold Bloom, List of Police Academy Characters, Joe Mcdoakes, Gidget, Steve Stifler, Dorian Tyrell, Miranda Priestly, Andrea Sachs, Axel Foley, Ace Ventura, Boris Badenov, the Postal Dude, Hanson Brothers, Bill Lumbergh, Mr. Creosote, Niko, Chili Palmer, Clark Griswold, Dawn Davenport, Natasha Fatale, Fearless Leader, Carmen Ghia, Roger de Bris, Munna Bhai, Franz Liebkind, Jeff Spicoli, Billy Rosewood, Leo Bloom, Maria Gambrelli. Excerpt: Ace Ventura is a fictional character , created by screenwriter Jack Bernstein. Ace was played by Jim Carrey in the films (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective , released in 1994, and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls , released in 1995.) He was voiced by Michael Dangerfield in the animated television series .Biography Ace was the son of Ron Ventura and is a direct descendant of famous historical figures including Charles Ventura Darwin , Ernest Ventura Shackleton , and Jacques Ventura Costeau . He spent his adult life working as an investigator on cases involving animals, cases that took him all over the United States, as well as the world. It is not known if the Ace Ventura animated television series was canon with the films, but if it was it likely takes place before them because the only one of his pets from the movies to appear in the series is his capuchin monkey , Spike (this suggests that he may not have gotten the rest of his pets until some point between the movies and series). During the second film, Ace becomes a Buddhist monk after a failed rescue attempt of a raccoon . At some point he had a son, named Ace Jr., with Melissa, Courteney Cox ‘s character from the first film in the series, who eventually became a zookeeper so that her son could see animals anytime he wanted to. Ace went missing while |
