How to book air ticket online without mentioning Surname?

I have only first name and no surname. Now I have to book an international air ticket (Ind-US) online where they ask for surname too. Can you pls suggest the way out. P.S I have travelled around the world but the tickets were booked by my company’s agent and the name used in e-ticket was always just my name without any surname. My US VISA mentions First name as “FNU” as Surname as my actual name.

The name on your passport must match exactly the name on the airline ticket. I would suggest calling an airline directly or visiting a travel agency.

1,003 Great Things About Being a Woman

1,003 Great Things About Being a Woman

$9.95

It’s great to be a woman . . . most of the time. Lisa Birnbach, Ann Hodgman, and Patty Marx have come up with 1,003 hilarious reasons why it’s great all of the time. Pantyhose, high heels, lipstick, maxi pads, chocolate-all things feminine are covered. These three witty and wise women have delivered yet another hysterical list of 1,003 great things. Each writer has a unique (and much appreciated) take on being a modern-day woman. After all, today’s females need to be tough, talented multitaskers with an amazing sense of humor-and that’s just to compete with the males in grade school! The trio empathizes humorously with women’s universal struggles and triumphs:” Hair talk is the international language. ” You and the children go first in the lifeboat. ” You can cry your way out of a speeding ticket. ” Oh, the joy of a shoe sale! ” The gender that brought you Girl Scout cookies. ” Women are tougher than men. Proof: bikini waxes. ” Women have a better instinctive sense of how to bag items in the supermarket. ” When we get that tone in our voice, you’d better listen up. ” Nothing wrong with us that a Frappuccino can’t fix. ” Without ever having been there first, we know our way around every Target, Wal- Mart, Kohl’s, and Kmart. You’ll laugh out loud at these outrageously funny stands on the sisterhood of femininity. 1003 Great Things About Being a Woman is the gift book every woman must own!

100 Anime

100 Anime

$19.95

Tentacles from the bowels of the earth. Machines from another dimension. Cyborgs designed by ghostly children. Planets destroyed by psychic amoeba. Welcome to the wonderfully complex and disorienting world of Japanese animation—anime. 100 Anime is not a guide to this world; it is a ticket to keep you lost in sensory overload. This expansive and mind-blowing book delves deep into the chaotic meaning forged by anime’s mutation of Eastern/ Western themes, images, and sounds. Read it in order to navigate the postwar shock waves that still propel Japan’s mass media.100 Anime offers stimulating revelations of the wild world of anime and gives an overview of how vast the anime industry is in comparison to live- action cinema; how important the calligraphic vein of Japanese culture is in its dissemination of highly graphic material; and how the westernized reading of Japanese iconography requires a complete and irre trievable dumping of Judeo Christian Eurocentric postulations of semiotics, symbolism, and mythology.

Excerpt: The elections for the United States House of Representatives in 1824 coincided with the contentious presidential election of that year. There were 213 seats in the House up for election, and those elected served in the 19th United States Congress that convened on December 5, 1825. While the bulk of states held their elections in 1824, seven states scheduled their general elections at various times during 1825. By 1823, the year that marked the end of the consensus-driven Era of Good Feelings, the national wing of the Federalist Party had disbanded and the Democratic-Republican Party, which was left as the only major political party, was being destroyed by internal divisions. The party fractured after the 1824 presidential election between those who supported the new president, John Quincy Adams, and those who supported Andrew Jackson. Jackson was defeated after the House decided the contested election in favor of Adams. Representatives who supported Adams won a slim majority in the House, and would later form the National Republican Party in 1825. Jackson supporters continued calling themselves Democratic-Republicans, and later became the Democratic Party in 1828. The following states did not hold general elections for the House in 1824, and instead scheduled their elections in 1825. Excerpt: This article refers to the former Baseball major league that existed from 1882 to 1891. For other leagues with a similar name see: American Association (disambiguation). The American Association (AA) was a Major League Baseball league that existed for 10 seasons from 1882 to 1891. During that time, it challenged the National League (NL) for dominance of professional baseball. Together with the NL, the AA participated in an early version of the World Series seven times. The American Association distinguished itself in several ways from what it considered to be the puritanical National League. The new league established teams in what the NL leaders pejoratively called “river cities”, including Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis, with the inherent implication of lower morality or social standards in those cities. Living “down” to those expectations, the AA offered cheaper ticket prices and more liberal libations to its patrons. On November 8, 1881, at the Gibson House in Cincinnati, it was decided that individual teams in the newly formed league would operate its own affairs and setting its own admission prices, under an agreement called the guarantee system. The NL at that time prohibited the sale of alcohol on its grounds, while the AA had no such restrictions, especially as several of its teams were backed by breweries and distilleries. The AA became known as “The Beer and Whiskey League”, another pejorative term applied by NL supporters, and which did not seem to bother the fans of the Association’s clubs. Beginning in 1884 and continuing through 1890, the champion of the AA met the champion of the National League in an early version of the World Series. These early Series were less organized than the modern version, with as fe… More:

1912: Wilson, Roosevelt, Taft and Debs -The Election that Changed the Country By James Chace

1912: Wilson, Roosevelt, Taft and Debs -The Election that Changed the Country By James Chace

$16

Beginning with former president Theodore Roosevelt’s return in 1910 from his African safari, Chace brilliantly unfolds a dazzling political circus that featured four extraordinary candidates. When Roosevelt failed to defeat his chosen successor, William Howard Taft, for the Republican nomination, he ran as a radical reformer on the Bull Moose ticket. Meanwhile, Woodrow Wilson, the ex-president of Princeton, astonished everyone by seizing the Democratic nomination from the bosses who had made him New Jersey’s governor. Most revealing of the reformist spirit sweeping the land was the charismatic socialist Eugene Debs, who polled an unprecedented one million votes.
Wilson’s “accidental” election had lasting impact on America and the world. The broken friendship between Taft and TR inflicted wounds on the Republican Party that have never healed, and the party passed into the hands of a conservative ascendancy that reached its fullness under Reagan and George W. Bush. Wilson’s victory imbued the Democratic Party with a progressive idealism later incarnated in FDR, Truman, and LBJ.
1912 changed America.

Excerpt: For other parks of the same name, see White City (amusement park) White City (sometimes listed as White City Amusement Park in print advertisements) was a recreational area located in the Greater Grand Crossing and Woodlawn community areas on the south side of Chicago from 1905 until the 1950s. At the time of its opening, on May 26, 1905, it was claimed to be the largest park of its type in the United States. It contributed to Chicago’s status as the city with the most amusement parks in the United States until 1908. It eventually introduced the world to the Goodyear Blimp, which was first assembled at the park. Time once used the park as point of reference for the city of Chicago. The park was located at 63rd Street and South Avenue and covered fourteen acres of land with gardens and strolling paths. There were several buildings all lined with white lights, from which the park took its name. One of the buildings housed a ballroom with a dancefloor large enough for 1,000 dancers. The park had a tower that could be seen for 15 miles (24.1 km). The College Inn, a restaurant, could seat 2,500 diners at a time. “White City” was also the name associated with the landscaping and architecture of the World’s Columbian Exposition, held near the same location in 1893 because the exhibition’s buildings used plaster of Paris and were painted a chalky white. In its prime the park rivalled Coney Island as a model for worldwide amusement park architects, designers and planners. There was no general admission ticket, and patrons purchased tickets to use each of the park’s features. 1960-LBJ vs. JFK vs. Nixon: The Epic Campaign That Forged Three Presidencies

$11.99

It was the election that would ultimately give America “Camelot” and its tragic aftermath, a momentous contest when three giants who each would have a chance to shape the nation battled to win the presidency.Award-winning author David Pietrusza does here for the 1960 presidential race what he did in his previous book, 1920: the Year of the Six Presidents—which Kirkus Reviews selected as one of their Best Books of 2007. Until now, the most authoritative study of the 1960 election was Theodore White’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Making of the President, 1960. But White, as a trusted insider, didn’t tell all. Here’s the rest of the story, what White could never have known, nor revealed. Finally, it’s all out—including JFK’s poignant comment on why LBJ’s nomination as vice president would be inconsequential: “I’m 43 years old. I’m not going to die in office.”Combining an engaging narrative with exhaustive research, Pietrusza chronicles the pivotal election of 1960, in which issues of civil rights and religion (Kennedy was only the second major-party Roman Catholic candidate ever) converged. The volatile primary clash between Senate Majority leader LBJ and the young JFK culminated in an improbable fusion ticket. The historic, legendary Kennedy-Nixon debates followed in its wake. The first presidential televised debates, they forever altered American politics when an exhausted Nixon was unkempt and tentative in their first showdown. With 80 million viewers passing judgment, Nixon’s poll numbers dropped as the charismatic Kennedy’s star rose. Nixon learned his lesson—resting before subsequent debates, reluctantly wearing makeup, and challenging JFK with a more aggressive stance—but the damage was done. There’s no one better to convey the drama of that tumultuous year than Pietrusza. He has 1,000 secrets to spill; a fascinating cast of

“Corday’s book is a delicious page turner.” –Tristan Taormino, The Village Voice”the book offers a wealth of lurid and surreal anecdotes. . . . In what other setting could Thompson turn out to be the most level headed character.” — San Francisco Magazine”You’ve probably imagined her in your Hunter S. Thompson dreams: a sexy, unpredictable, brainy absurdist able to keep up with the drug-fueled antics of pornographers while also maintaining a serene humanity. Simone Corday is this woman. In her memoir, 9 1/2 Years Behind the Green Door, she describes life with the infamous Mitchell brothers when she danced and caroused at their peepshow theater in the 1980s. In the book, which is largely dedicated to describing her relationship with lover Artie Mitchell, she’s often naked or making regular visitor Thompson giggle by chasing men around the strip joint in a gorilla suit. She also pontificates hilariously on hypocritical moralists and the pain they feel because of the success of the theater and those famous films. At a recent reading, her complete lack of bitterness, heartbreak, or regret were evident, and her genuine love of San Francisco, sex, and honesty made the stories even funnier. In the end, she writes on her Web site, “I bought the ticket, and it was a spectacular ride.”– Hiya Swanhuyser, San Francisco Weekly”Hunter S. Thompson a friend of the Mitchell brothers drifts in and out of this story. Reading it I can imagine him bounding around with his usual bow-legged gait, doing what he did best – plamasing everyone in sight, looking like he owned the place. He was at O’Farrell to do research for a Playboy article (which was never published.) He was dubbed “Night Manager” A title I`m sure he relished. He loved being around people, he loved to enjoy himself with the help of whatever substance happened to be around, and where better than O’Farrell Theatre. . . Even though Hunter’s presence in the story is a selling point, that

Linus Owen is a young professor of conspiracy theory at a small college just outside San Francisco. But if Claudia is in Chicago, how is it that two FBI agents show up at Linus' office and inform him that Claudia has been killed in a plane crash on her way from New York to Brazil? And why did a man named Jeffrey Holden, the vice president of a major pharmaceutical company, buy her ticket and die beside her?
Enlisting the aid of Edward and Roy -- his friends and fellow conspiracy theorists -- Linus heads across the country in search of answers. Along the way, the trio encounters a legion of disturbing and provocative characters and clues, including an irascible talk show host, a mind-controlling drug, and art emerging link between Claudia's ad agency and the U.S, Government. As their journey progresses, it becomes frighteningly clear they've left the realm of the academic and are tangled up in a dangerous, multilayered cover-up. Finally, deep in the heart of the American desert, stunned by an ominous revelation, Linus sees he has a new minion: to try to stay alive.
With writing that is electric, whip-smart and suspenseful at each turn, Noah Hawley draws us into a deliciously labyrinthine world of paranoia and plots.

A TICKET TO HE...

A TICKET TO HE…

$9.99

A Ticket to He . . . is the true story of how Wanda Schnebly and her family’s lives were thrust into turmoil and grief because of medical malpractice and what they did to survive and find joy again. There are three powerful elements in her story. One is the medical fiasco that destroyed Kelly Schnebly’s life and the resulting malpractice lawsuit. Its award of $1,044,000 was the largest judgment to a minor in the nation and was a catalyst for the medical malpractice panic that started in the seventies and continues yet today. The second is the inspiring struggle of how Wanda led volunteers in her community to build a pilot exemplary educational and residential program locally for children like Kelly. It started in her home as a day care program for four children, and continues today in six Iowa communities serving nearly two hundred persons. Its 2008 annual report lists income of $12,601,936 with expenditures for services of $12,184, 063. See krysilis.org The last is a series of powerful and mysterious paranormal events. She doesn’t ask the reader to agree with her; rather she shares the fears and wonderments of these up-close encounters of life, death, an inner voice, Jesus, nightmares, and other paranormal events, such as the unfinished last word in the title of this book, A Ticket to He . . . Perhaps the finest hours of her story are the ones that share how Kelly’s spirit broke through his profound and multiple handicaps and touched others. He has a legacy few people achieve. He was a hero, and he inspired others to be heroes too.

Excerpt: Carpenters is the third studio album by The Carpenters. Released on May 14, 1971, the album was successful, reaching #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and #12 in the United Kingdom. With the hit songs “For All We Know”, “Rainy Days and Mondays”, and “Superstar”, Carpenters solidified Karen Carpenter as one of her generation’s most endearing pop vocalists. It has been said that the strength of these recordings is what caused Richard Carpenter to ask his sister to front the band instead of playing behind the drums on every live performance. Amongst many fans, the album has simply been referred to as The Tan Album, because the album itself is like a tan envelope, and is presumably a play on The Beatles’ so-called White Album. In Cash Box’s Top 100 Albums of 1971, Carpenters peaked at #8. This is the first album to feature the familiar Carpenters emblem. All lead vocals are by Karen, except Richard Carpenter sings lead vocal, with Karen in the background, on the tracks, “Druscilla Penny” and “Saturday”. The music of “Rainy Days and Mondays” was composed by Roger Nichols, and the lyrics were written by Paul Williams, who later recorded his own version of the song. It was released as a single and charted well in the United States at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Rainy Days and Mondays” was The Carpenters’ second Nichols/Williams hit, second to “We’ve Only Just Begun” of the Close to You album the previous year. “Saturday” is a short, upbeat song with a runtime of 1:18. It was used as the B-side of “Rainy Days and Mondays.” The song talks about how joyful Saturday is, and how joyful it is to finish Friday. In 1973 on the TV program Robert Young with the Young, Richard and Karen perform “Saturday” and talk about its meaning. “Let Me Be the One” has a r… More:

Almanac of Political Corruption, Scandals and Dirty Politics

Almanac of Political Corruption, Scandals and Dirty Politics

$1.81

Watergate. Billygate. Iran-Contra. Teapot Dome. Monica Lewinsky.American history is marked by era-defining misdeeds, indiscretions, and the kind of tabloid-ready scandals that politicians seem to do better than anyone else. Now, for the first time, one volume brings together 300 years of political wrongdoing in an illustrated history of politicians gone wild—proving that today’s scoundrels aren’t the first, worst, and surely won’t be the last….From high crimes to misdemeanors to moments of licentiousness and larceny, this unique compendium captures in complete, colorful detail the foibles, failings, peccadilloes, dirty tricks, and astounding blunders committed by politicians behaving badly. Amid stories of brawlers, plagiarists, sexual predators, tax evaders, and the temporarily insane, this almanac tells all about:•The only (so far!) president to be arrested while in office: Ulysses S. Grant, who was allegedly issued a ticket for racing his horse and buggy through the streets of Washington, D.C. •The former New Jersey state senator David J. Friedland, who disappeared during a scuba diving accident in 1985. It turns out he staged the accident and served nine years in prison after being captured in the Maldives. •Tape-recorded instructions from highbrow president Franklin Delano Roosevelt on how his staff should carry out some low-down political tricks•The bizarre story of U.S. congressman Robert Potter, who castrated two men he suspected of having affairs with his wife. Potter won election to the state house while in jail—but was kicked out for cheating at cards.•Texas congressman Henry Barbosa Gonzalez: he was charged with assault in 1986 after he shoved and hit a man who called him a communist. Gonzalez was seventy years old at the time. At once shocking and hilariously funny, here’s a book that exposes the history of American politics, warts and

Chapters: Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station, Sturtevant, Milwaukee Intermodal Station, La Crosse, Columbus, Wisconsin Dells, Tomah, Portage. Excerpt: Milwaukee Airport Railroad Station – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Milwaukee Airport Rail Station’s primary functions are to serve as an airport rail link for General Mitchell International Airport and to serve as an alternate to the downtown Milwaukee station for residents of the southern portions of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The station is served only by the Amtrak Hiawatha Service, and sees fourteen daily arrivals, seven each from Milwaukee and Chicago Union Station. The station is the second stop in route to Chicago, with a travel time along the 8-mile (13-kilometer) section taking 10 minutes. It is also the third stop in route to Milwaukee, with a travel time along the 78-mile (126-kilometer) section taking one hour and 14 minutes. For 2008, the station handled 149,824 passengers. The 1,600-square-foot (150 m) station includes a Quik-Trak ticket vending machine, restrooms, a seating area and covered walkways to both the drive-up area and the boarding platform. As the station is unstaffed, all tickets from the station need to be pre-paid, purchased from Quik-Trak or on the train from a conductor. The station parking lot contains 300 spaces and costs $5 per day per vehicle. All revenue generated from parking fees is used to finance the station’s operating costs. Transport to and from the airport terminal is provided by the free parking shuttle buses operated by the airport. The idea of opening an Amtrak station in the vicinity of Mitchell Airport is one that had been discussed since the mid-1970s. The justification for not building the station at the time was based on infrequent Amtrak… More:

An East Tennessee Nightmare Lying In Wait

An East Tennessee Nightmare Lying In Wait

$16.95

The men and women of Appalachia are strong and self-sufficient. In Roane County, Tennessee they most often have lived on and between the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. Times changed and as they did in this story, those who had become clearly isolated in their long-standing culture took change personally. They didn’t like it. Leon and Rocky Houston are two such men, along with a large group of sympathetic followers. In the end that sympathy portrayed years of self-styled, anti-government lawsuits as well as the death of a sheriff’s deputy and his retired, disabled ride-along officer. To believe the fifteen to twenty years of this rising storm ended in death for two men patrolling the public road “reserved” for the Houston clan came only as somewhat of a surprise. To believe that the storm clouds descended due to a school zone traffic violation five years before the killin’s was at first a mystery. But a deep look at Rocky’s 2001 courtroom “ticket tantrum” unveiled much more: Then and there he reportedly threw himself on the floor while yelling, “if you remember Waco you haven’t seen anything yet.”The comment’s starkness unwinds within the book to explore the “sovereign citizens and militia mania” of the 90′s and where that might have taken the brothers Houstons’ thinking and need to kill “a few cops.”
